Three things I am thankful for this Thursday are:
1. Good friends that have been in my life for 30 years or more. What a blessing that is! I reflect on how many memories have been shared with these special folks, how many memories have been created by these wonderful friends who know my heart so well, forgive me my foibles and support me in achieving my dreams.
2. New friends who bring a fresh perspective to my eyes. Who will tell me the truth when I can't see it or don't want to see it! People who I am creating memories with for the next 30 years (hmmm then I will be what? Almost 92!!) and who also support me in achieving my dreams.
3. DREAMS! I am so very thankful that I have dreams, things that I am working towards. Things that I want to accomplish in the next 2 -5 years. There! Look a timetable, those are always good to have, right?
I'm going to be posting more on this blog... rather LESS randomly LOL!

It's about time!!
Ya, Ya, Ya... I know this is about the most boring blog in blogland. What can I say? Seems like I'm talking to myself though god knows I do that enough too. Time just flies by and I forget to stop by and post something... or is it that I don't really have too much more to say. Oh I always have a ton to say, pretty much on any subject so... that excuse really won't fly.
I will have to say I am pretty excited about meeting Sadie's new boyfriend. This is the first guy who I have immediately fallen in love with. He is super cute, and better than that, he is SUPER nice and cool to boot. Sadie sang at the Eagles Club last night, it was okay, except they gave her a shitty mic and the band was so loud you couldn't hear her very well. Sort of like listening to her sing in someone's basement. She was awesome as usual, just the band thing sort of sucked. I sure do wish she'd find "her" band. Anyhow Marin, and his two brothers, Jake and Tim came down also which was a hoot. I haven't seen Tim in probably 30 years, no, it would be 20 this year as the last time I saw him was at Melvina's funeral and that was in the spring of '89. Jake I saw at our wedding and I think one other time when we ran into him at the coop or something. Anyway it'd been awhile. So poor Ted met both Sadie's parents, her stepdad AND the two crazy uncles all at the same time. He did well! I was going to put on my facebook page Jane is ... in love with the Ted LOL. I wish I'd have taken a picture of them, they make such a cute couple! So... perhaps we will have more on that in weeks?... months? .... years? to come ...
My horse is still at Liz's. I saw him there last week, he's doing so well and we're both learning so much. He's trying to be such a good boy for me and I'm trying to do my best for him and not fall back into old habits of too much. Remember: A horse is not an alligator. Liz is such a great mentor and we have a lot of fun together, it's a great way to learn. I can't wait until I try some of this stuff on the other horses here at home. I guess Whodie is going to stay at Liz's until I'M ready to continue his education.
So... guess there really wasn't much to write about!

Well, it would appear it's been quite awhile since I "Blogged". And that is because ? perhaps I'm not used to doing it and I forget, my comments really are SO very random and I am busy doing other things. What "other things"? I'm back to working on editing my time-travel romance novel (what else would I write?), I'm helping a friend with a book, I'm working on some humerous videos to help people train horses, I'm working with MY horse and my trainer to be a better rider and horse owner and I'm working with the American Heritage Horse Association (AHHA) to promote and educate folks about the American Heritage Horse (a.k.a. the Spanish Mustang), just wrote an article for a regional magazine on that. Plus work with the other 10 horses we have, take care of our 3 dogs and 4 cats, and work full-time, and I'm trying to workout three times a week ... So it's not like I'm just sitting around watching TV and eating bon-bons (do they even have bon-bons anymore? Should that be changed to eating truffles? Or 75% coaca dark chocolate?)
I do spend a lot of time on the computer I love my computer, so much information! Well, I have to get ready to go to a funeral today. A co-workers 24 year old son... the worst thing imaginable, I'm dreading it. I went to the wake last night, it was so sad.

The Beginning: November 16, 2008
Well, my very own blog... how important I feel! I just read John's blog and I laughed out loud. I guess this would be a good way to remember some of my favorite stories, for when I get really old, and also for those random thoughts that are so important not to miss. I think that's why people meditate, so they can hear their random thoughts. Though through the years I think that many of those "meditative types" are just spending time focusing on their worries as they don't seem a lot calmer and happier as mediators. I'm more of an "ignorer" than a mediator. Rather than focus on a problem I ignore it until it becomes way TOO BIG to ignore or it goes away. That should work real well with medical issues, huh?
Last night we (Wes and I) met John and Jan at the 331 Club for a drink then went and had dinner at Erte. It was a FABULOUS evening and we all got to hear Sadie sing. WoW! She is so awesome. And I'm not just saying that because she's my daughter either. She has a voice that doesn't sound like anyone else's that I've heard. I tried to video it with my camera, we'll see what comes of it. I know it was too dark to see her, but hopefully we'll be able to hear her.
Here are some random questions:
1) Why is it the people who are against abortion are for the death penalty? Doesn't the "Thou Shalt Not Kill" thing apply to adults?
2) Why do parents ask their kids a question when their answer isn't going to matter?
"Do you want to go to the store now?" It doesn't matter if little Billy or Betty wants to go to the store. You're going to the store, what answer the kid gives is irrelevant, don't you think this sets up a "situation"? Either you can try to convince the kid that they really DO want to go, or you can just say we're going and discount their answer. Either way you aren't honoring their answer. Why can't parents just say, "We're going to the store now." The parent has made a decision, the child learns this is how it works. Then you can give the kid choices that they can actually have, like what color shirt do you want to wear or do you want peanut butter and jelly (kids still eat that, right?) or ham.
Okay, I'm going to feed the horses breakfast now...
